Client needs her lawyer to beat the charge she is facing. He says he can help her but the cost will be at least ten thousand dollars. A look of dismay comes over Vonka's face, and she is to admit that she does not have that kind of money. The lawyer suggests that she pay half up front and the rest later, but even that is beyond Vonka's reach. It looks as if the lawyer might abandon the case, but then he offers her another suggestion; he will accept payment in installments if she is willing to take off here clothes in front of him and allow him to see her naked. Vonka is clearly not enamored of this idea and asks if there is any other way forward, but the lawyer tells her to take it or leave it. Facing the prospect of being convicted without his help and having to spend time in prison, Vonka reluctantly agrees to do as he asks. He suggests that she start with her sweater, and encourages her each step of the way to remove subsequent items of clothing, until, finally, she is naked.
